A bankruptcy judge has signed off on a deal allowing North Philadelphia Health System, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Dec. 30, to sell St. Joseph's Hospital in Philadelphia, which closed last March, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Under the agreement, NPHS will sell St. Joseph's Hospital to MMP Hospital Partners in Philadelphia for $8.12 million. NPHS will sell the hospital free and clear of liens, according to bankruptcy court documents.

The transaction is expected to close by April 7, according to the report.

NPHS currently operates Girard Medical Center, a 168-bed drug treatment and behavioral health facility.
