Alabama's Huntsville Hospital Signs Definitive Agreement to Acquire Capella's Parkway Medical Center

Staff -
Huntsville (Ala.) Hospital and Franklin, Tenn.-based Capella Healthcare have signed a definitive agreement for Huntsville Hospital to acquire Capella's Parkway Medical Center of Decatur (Ala.).

"We serve many of the same patients and even share some physicians [as Parkway Medical Center], so we are very pleased for Parkway to join our family.  And, with our existing affiliation with Decatur General Hospital, this move will strengthen care in the Decatur community by providing a seamless network," said Huntsville Hospital CEO David Spillers.

The deal is expected to be finalized before the end of the year. The joint news release did not disclose any financial terms of the potential transaction.
