The following hospital mergers, acquisitions and general transactions took place within the past week, beginning with the most recent.

1. Rutherford Regional, Mission Health Terminate Merger Plan
Mission Health, based inAsheville,N.C., and Rutherfordton, N.C.-based Rutherford Regional Health System terminated their nonbinding memorandum of understanding for RRHS to become a member of Mission Health.

2. Hill Country Memorial and Frontera Health Network Partner for Service Expansion
Fredericksburg, Texas-based Hill County Memorial will pass over operations of itsCommunity MedicalCenterto Frontera Healthcare Network in August in order to expand CMC's offerings.

3. Unicoi Hospital Accepts Mountain States Offer for Third Time
The Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Board of Control in Erwin,Tenn., accepted a proposal from Johnson City, Tenn.-based Mountain States Health Alliance to acquire the public-owned hospital.

4. Downey Regional Collaborates With PIH Health to Manage Daily Operations
Regional Medical Center, based in Downey, Calif., entered into an agreement with Whittier, Calif.-based PIH Health to manage its day-to-day operations.

5. IASIS Healthcare Sells 3 Florida Hospitals to HCA
Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corp. of America and Franklin, Tenn.-based IASIS Healthcare signed a definitive agreement, in which HCA will buy the three hospitals IASIS owns in Florida.

6. Gulf Coast Medical Center Partners With Northwest Florida Community Hospital
Gulf Coast Medical Center, based in Panama City, Fla., and Chipley, Fla.-based Northwest Florida Community Hospital signed a clinical affiliation agreement.

7. Court Rules Against Nonprofit in Portsmouth Hospital Ownership Battle
The Portsmouth, N.H.-based nonprofit Foundation for Seacoast Health lost its latest court battle against Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corp. of America for ownership of Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

8. Mount Sinai, Continuum Health Partners Sign Definitive Merger Agreement
The Mount Sinai Medical Center and Continuum Health Partners signed a definitive agreement to merge, creating the largest private health system in New York City.

9. USC Closes Purchase of Verdugo Hills Hospital
The Keck Medical Center of USC in Los Angeles officially acquired Verdugo Hills Hospital.

10. University of Rochester Medical Center Acquires Closed Lakeside Health
The community of Brockport, N.Y., will regain some healthcare services, as the University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center acquired several assets of Lakeside Health System.

11. Real Estate Trust Purchases Physicians Specialty Hospital in Arkansas for $22.6M
Effective July 1, Carter Validus Mission Critical REIT owns Physicians Specialty Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark.

12. Allina Health to Take Full Ownership of Regina Medical Center
Allina Health, based in Minneapolis, will fully acquire Regina Medical Center in Hastings, Minn.

13. Carolinas HealthCare Buys Stanly Health Services for $70M
Carolinas HealthCare System, based in Charlotte, N.C., acquired full ownership of Stanly Health Services in Albemarle, N.C.
