6. In 2011, the hospital recorded $946.1 million in gross charges and $22.1 million in net income, according to the American Hospital Directory. 

7. In 2013, the hospital received a Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence from Healthgrades.

8. The hospital was founded in 1904 and is part of the Middlesex Health System.  

9. The hospital has been designated four times as one of the Thomson Reuters' 100 Top Hospitals.

10. Middlesex Hospital is Connecticut's first and only Magnet hospital, as designated by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
