US News ranks 'Best Nursing Schools 2019'

The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing in Baltimore was ranked the No. 1 nursing school at which to earn a master's degree in nursing, according to U.S. News & World Report's "Best Nursing Schools" for 2019.

U.S. News' rankings for the top nursing schools for MSN and DNP degrees are part of the publication's annual "2019 Best Graduate Schools" lists, which recognize the top institutions for several graduate programs, including business, education, law, engineering, nursing and medicine. The publication also published new rankings this year for graduate programs in other popular disciplines, including biological sciences, chemistry, public affairs, social work and criminology.

Here are the top 10 nursing schools to earn an MSN degree, including ties, according to U.S. News.

1. The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing
2. Duke University School of Nursing (Durham, N.C.)
3. Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University (Atlanta)
4. University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing (Philadelphia)
5. University of Washington School of Nursing (Seattle)
6. The Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland)
7. University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing
8. UAB School of Nursing (Birmingham, Ala.) 
8. University of Michigan School of Nursing (Ann Arbor)
8. Yale School of Nursing (Orange, Conn.)
