UC Davis opens first trauma-informed services to foster youth

Cailey Gleeson -

The University of California Davis announced Oct. 11 a partnership with the Sacramento County Health Center offering a comprehensive trauma-informed program for the state's youth in foster care.

The CIRCLE (Comprehensive Integration of Resilience into Child Life Experiences) Clinic provides medical services for children in the foster care system, offering them access to primary care from UC Davis pediatricians, mental and behavioral health services, and other health-related care.

"The Department of Pediatrics at UC Davis School of Medicine is committed to improving access to medical and mental health care for children, and we are pleased to partner with Sacramento County to serve the youth of our region," said Allison Brashear, MD, dean of the School of Medicine.
