University of California Davis School of Medicine in Sacramento named Allison Brashear, MD, dean, effective July 22.
Dr. Brashear is currently professor and chair of the neurology department at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, N.C. She holds the Walter C. Teagle Endowed Chair of Neurology.
Dr. Brashear has served as lead principal investigator in many multicenter trials and National Institutes of Health-funded studies. She serves on the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and was named a Council of Deans fellow with the Association of American Medical Colleges in 2014.
In addition to her medical training, Dr. Brashear completed an MBA at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in Durham, N.C.
