Montana hospital to display killed, stuffed grizzly bear as 'iconic symbol' of the state

Alyssa Rege -

Great Falls, Mont.-based Benefis Health System officials said the hospital will display a grizzly bear linked to the killing of 13 cows earlier this year, according to USA Today.

A Benefis Health System spokesperson told USA Today the grizzly bear was "an iconic symbol of Montana."

"Benefis Health System is honored to be able to display this grizzly in a setting where many people can both enjoy seeing it and learning more about the grizzly bear," the spokesperson said.

The 3-year-old bear had previously been caught and released earlier this year. The animal was captured Oct. 24 and euthanized the following day, the report states.
