Marion, Ill.-based Heartland Regional Medical Center partnered with Saint Louis University School of Medicine Sept. 21 to advance cardiac care for area residents, according to the Harrisburg Register.
As part of the agreement, Ali Mehdirad, MD, a cardiologist and professor at the university, will work with referring physicians to treat difficult cardiac cases at HRMC. He will be located on HRMC's campus two days per month, the Harrisburg Register reports.
HRMC physicians, nurses and technicians will also be able to develop and pursue additional training opportunities at SLU, according to the report.
