Healthways, headquartered in Franklin, Tenn., and Genesis Physician Group of Dallas have partnered to form GenHealth, a health services organization designed to support independent physicians with a population health management infrastructure.
This joint venture is a market-shifting opportunity to unlock the unique knowledge and expertise of physicians and empower them to help transform healthcare into a more economically sustainable model that simultaneously elevates the well-being and the quality care for all their patient population," said James W. Walton, DO, president and CEO of Genesis Physicians Group and GenHealth, in the release.
According to the release, the partnership will also encourage better partnerships with payer organizations and employers under shared savings and other value-based reimbursement contracts.
Genesis Accountable Physician Network, an accountable care organization and affiliate of GPG, is the first clinically integrated physician network to partner with GenHealth.
