New York City-based Albert Einstein College of Medicine tapped Gordon Tomaselli, MD, as the new Marilyn and Stanley M. Katz Dean, effective July 1.
Here are four points:
1. Dr. Tomaselli currently serves as division chief of cardiology and co-director of the Heart and Vascular Institute at Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
2. He currently oversees 550 clinicians, scientists and staff as well as a research budget of nearly $30 million.
3. He is a past president of the American Heart Association.
4. Dr. Tomaselli succeeds Allen M. Spiegel, MD, who became dean in 2006.
