White House physician says Trump is in 'excellent health'

White House Physician Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson, MD, said Friday President Donald Trump's first physical, which took place the same day, went "exceptionally well," The New York Times reports.

President Trump received his first official medical exam last week at Bethesda, Md.-based Walter Reed National Military Medical Center since taking office roughly one year ago.

"The president's physical exam today at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center went exceptionally well. The president is in excellent health," Dr. Jackson said.

The statement did not include basic information about President Trump's health, such as his weight, blood pressure or cholesterol levels, and did not indicate which medical tests were performed during the exam, the report states. However, Dr. Jackson is expected to brief reporters on the president's health during a news conference Tuesday, ABC News reports.

When President Trump was a presidential candidate in December 2015, his personal physician, Harold Bornstein, MD, who is affiliated with New York City-based Lenox Hill Hospital, released a four-paragraph letter stating President Trump "will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency," according to The New York Times.

Dr. Bornstein wrote in the letter a "complete medical examination" of the then-candidate indicated "only positive results," the report states. The letter did not disclose many specifics at the time.
