In its second round of layoffs this year, Las Vegas-based University Medical Center has laid off 285 employees, including nurses, office assistants and other support staff, according to a Las Vegas Sun report.
In addition to the layoffs, UMC will end its outpatient oncology, outpatient pharmacy and some clinic services, according to the report.
Earlier this year, UMC laid off 105 employees and closed four of its urgent care centers, called UMC Quick Care, that had been losing money.
UMC has been struggling financially for more than a decade, according to the Sun. It is the only public hospital in southern Nevada.
