Trump nominates 4 FTC commissioners

Julie Spitzer -

President Donald Trump selected four nominees to the Federal Trade Commission, an agency that's been operating with only two of its usual five members, according to The Hill.

If confirmed, the four will be tasked with overseeing mergers, in addition to enforcing consumer protection laws. Following the Federal Communications Commission's recent repeal of net neutrality rules, the FTC will also be charged with maintaining an open internet.

Here are the four nominees.

  1. Antitrust attorney at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison Joseph Simons
  2. Aide to Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, Noah Phillips
  3. Senior Fellow at the Consumer Federation of America and a former Assistant Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Rohit Chopra
  4. Delta Airlines Vice President Christine Wilson
