Three Steps to Developing Inspired Leadership in Anesthesia

For anesthesia clinicians, the prospect of becoming a Chief anesthesiologist or Chief CRNA can be both exciting and intimidating. While incredibly bright and highly skilled, leadership training is not necessarily something learned in an operating room. As their careers evolve and grow, clinicians may find themselves interacting with hospital administrators while simultaneously feeling the absence of necessary skill sets. If we promote people without providing thoughtful training and meaningful operational tools, we run the risk of preventing them from diving deep to empower their anesthesia teams.
