Tennova to Trim 27 Jobs From Physicians Regional in Tennessee

Knoxville, Tenn.-based Tennova Healthcare is eliminating 27 positions from its Physicians Regional Medical Center, also in Knoxville, according to a Knoxville News Sentinel report.

The six-hospital system, which recently celebrated its one-year anniversary as Tennova under the ownership of for-profit, Naples, Fla.-based Health Management Associates, attributed the layoffs to the challenging regulatory and reimbursement environment and declining patient volumes, according to the report.

Those affected by the layoffs will be assisted in exploring other Tennova job opportunities.
