Survey: Healthcare Administrators Upbeat About Profession, Industry

More than 92 percent of hospital and medical group managers "feel positively" about being in healthcare administration, according to a recent survey of graduates from San Antonio-based Trinity University's Department of Healthcare Administration.

"Though the ground is shifting underneath them, most healthcare facility managers feel prepared for pending changes in the healthcare system and are happy about their selection of a career," Mary Stefl, chair of Trinity's healthcare administration department, said in a news release.

Here are three more findings from the survey:

•    87 percent rated their professional morale as positive
•    80.7 percent are satisfied with their career choice
•    47 percent are optimistic about the direction and future of healthcare

The survey was conducted by Merritt Hawkins and includes responses from 410 graduates from Trinity University's healthcare administration department.
