Six-figure ad campaign pushes Congress to stop prescription 'price gouging'

The Campaign for Sustainable Rx Pricing has launched a TV and digital ad campaign to encourage Congress to lower the price of prescription drugs, according to The Hill.

The ad shows a man writing a letter to Congress that criticizes its inaction in bringing down pharmaceutical costs.

"Drug prices are going up every single day. It's price gouging. When will you take action?" the man in the ad writes, according to The Hill. "Congress: You promised lower drug prices. Keep your commitment."

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said he expects drug pricing to be on the upcoming congressional agenda.

"I can't imagine that that won’t be," said Mr. McConnell.
