Ryan reaffirms GOP's plan to repeal ACA this year

Despite recent comments from President Donald Trump that an ACA replacement plan may not be ready until 2018, House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., said Congress still plans to pass legislation to replace the ACA this year, according to the Morning Consult.

"We are going to be done legislating with respect to health care and Obamacare this year," House Speaker Ryan said at a news conference on Capitol Hill Tuesday, though he added that it could take longer for the Trump administration to implement the replacement plan, according to the report.

"The question about how long it takes to effectuate the change, how long it takes to put these things in place, that's a question that the HHS can answer," said House Speaker Ryan. White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer reaffirmed the same idea later that day, according to the report.
