Poll: Americans favor reforming current system over ACA repeal, 'Medicare for All'

Healthcare continues to be a deciding factor for most voters (56 percent) in the 2020 election, and the majority want to keep the current system, according to a poll from Morning Consult and the Bipartisan Policy Center.

The poll was conducted online among 300 voters from each of three early primary states: Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.

Five quick takeaways:

  • 56 percent of voters said healthcare was a top issue in their 2020 vote
  • 39 percent said they most support improving the current healthcare system
  • 23 percent support repealing and replacing the ACA
  • 22 percent want to move to a single-payer system like "Medicare for All"
  • Out-of-pocket costs and prescription drug costs were the most important healthcare issues among all voters
