Former President Barack Obama voiced his frustration regarding recent efforts to repeal and replace the ACA during a speech at a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation event Sept. 20, CBS News reports.
Mr. Obama said while the ACA "was full of things that still need to be fixed," the replacement bill, proposed by Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Bill Cassidy, R-La., attempts to undo the ACA "without any demonstrable economic or actuarial or plain common-sense rationale," the report states.
"For the first time, more than 90 percent of Americans know the security of health insurance," he said. "When I see people trying to undo that hard-won progress for the 50th or 60th time, with bills that would raise costs or reduce coverage, or roll back protections for older Americans or people with preexisting conditions ... it is aggravating."
