Nashville General loses 3 board members

Ayla Ellison -

Nashville (Tenn.) General Hospital recently lost three of its 11 board members, and Nashville Mayor John Cooper will choose their replacements, according to the Nashville Tennessean.

Joel Sullivan, Nashville General's board chairman, announced the resignations of Herman Williams, MD, and Loretta Bond, PhD, during a board meeting Oct. 31. Dr. Williams, who joined the board in 2018, resigned because he could not regularly attend meetings. Dr. Bond joined the board in July. She resigned because she moved to a new county and is no longer eligible to serve on the board, according to the report.

The meeting on Oct. 31 was also the last for Reggie Hill, who served on the board for five terms.

The board has submitted some names to Mr. Cooper to consider for the safety-net hospital's board seats, Mr. Sullivan told the Nashville Tennessean.
