Michigan Health & Hospital Association COO to retire: 4 takeaways

Michigan Health & Hospital Association Executive Vice President and COO David Seaman is retiring after 33 years, setting off a chain of leadership changes.

Here are four takeaways:

1. Mr. Seaman is also the organization's board of trustees' staff secretary, and he oversees MHA's advocacy and policy divisions. He is retiring Jan. 1, 2019.

2. Chris Mitchell, the organization's current senior vice president of advocacy, will become executive vice president of advocacy and public affairs. He will be responsible for the advocacy, policy and communications divisions.

3. Amy Barkholz, MHA's general counsel and chief legal officer, will assume the board of trustees' staff secretary duties.

4. Nancy McKeague will take over as COO, overseeing human resources, IT, graphic services, and accounting and finance. She is currently senior vice president and chief of staff at MHA.
