Medical Facilities America names Robert Horrar CEO: 5 notes

Medical Facilities America, a Franklin, Tenn.-based hospital management company, named Robert Horrar president and CEO.

Here are five notes.

1. Mr. Horrar will begin the job Oct. 25.

2. In his new role, he will lead an organization that has ownership interest in specialty surgical hospitals and ambulatory surgical centers across five states, Medical Facilities said via news release. The company has ownership interest in facilities in Arkansas, California, Indiana, Oklahoma and South Dakota.

3. Previously, Mr. Horrar was COO of Medical Facilities.

4. He also previously was a division president of Franklin-based Community Health Systems, overseeing the operations of CHS facilities in Indiana, Tennessee and West Virginia, and served in various management positions at Louisville, Ky.-based Humana, according to Medical Facilities.

5. Mr. Horrar succeeds Medical Facilities President and CEO Jeffrey Lozon. The company said Mr. Lozon will remain a director of Medical Facilities.
