Maryland gubernatorial candidate to host healthcare rally with Sen. Sanders

Leo Vartorella -

Ben Jealous, a democratic candidate for governor of Maryland, will hold a rally Wednesday in Baltimore with Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., to unveil his healthcare plan, according to wbal.com.

Mr. Jealous, former CEO of the NAACP, supported Mr. Sanders' presidential nomination in 2016 and said he wants to create a universal healthcare system in Maryland.

"We need courageous leadership at the state level to protect Marylanders and create a system where everyone has quality, affordable healthcare no matter what happens in Washington," Mr. Jealous said, according to wbal.com. "My plan will do that and move us another step closer to a day where healthcare is finally a right and not a privilege for all Marylanders."
