Marshfield Clinic research institute gets new name: 4 things to know

Marshfield (Wis.) Clinic's research arm has rebranded.

Here are four things to know.

1. The Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation is now known as Marshfield Clinic Research Institute.

2. The new name distinguishes the research institute from the Marshfield Clinic Health System Foundation, according to a news release. Marshfield Clinic is under the purview of Marshfield Clinic Health System.

3. Founded nearly 60 years ago, the research institute employs 31 PhD and MD scientists and 155 other staff members, according to the release.

4. According to the release, the research institute includes research centers in the following areas:

  • Clinical research
  • Agricultural health and safety
  • Epidemiology
  • Human genetics
  • Biomedical informatics
  • Integrated laboratory services
