Specialty healthcare company Post Acute Medical will eliminate more than 200 jobs in Corpus Christi, Texas, the Corpus Christi Caller-Times reports.

The Enola, Pa.-based company will lay off about 65 employees with the closure of its Corpus Christi North hospital, and about 160 employees with the closure ofits Corpus Christi South one.The north hospital is expected to close by May 4, while the south hospital is expected to close by May 31.

It was unclear which job titles will be affected.

The layoffs are "for a variety of reasons, largely related to dramatic changes designed to substantially limit the type of patients who could be treated in long-term acute care hospitals," according to filings with the Texas Workforce Commission.

Post Acute Medical, a for-profit company, reportedly operates about 30 long-term acute care and rehabilitation facilities in Texas and seven other states.
