LifePoint Health CEO David Dill named 2020 chairman of FAH board

Emily Rappleye -

The Federation of American Hospitals, the industry group for investor-owned hospitals, appointed LifePoint Health President and CEO David Dill to lead its board of directors in 2020.

Mr. Dill will start his term in January, when Ron Rittenmeyer, chairman and CEO of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare, steps down. Mr. Rittenmeyer will remain on the board as a member — the CEOs of FAH's 10 member organizations all serve on the board. In addition to Tenet and Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health, those organizations are Louisville, Ky.-based Kindred Healthcare; Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare; King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services; Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare; Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems; Birmingham, Ala.-based Encompass Health; and Ardent Health Services in Nashville.

"It is an honor to be chosen to serve as chair of the Federation next year. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the Board and the FAH team to ensure every American has access to personalized, quality care in their local communities," Mr. Dill said in a press release. "2020 will surely bring challenges, but I am confident in FAH's mission. This organization has a proven track record of affecting the policy process for the best interests of the patients we serve."
