Memorial Medical Center of Modesto (Calif.) may implement layoffs or relocate jobs to Sacramento, possibly as early as next month, according to a Modesto Bee report.

The hospital's parent, Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health, has been streamlining its finance, billing, human resources and purchasing operations. The restructuring is expected to result in workforce reductions, according to the report.

Memorial Medical Center employees have said they expect a layoff affecting 150 to 200 jobs, according to the report, but a Sutter spokesperson said he had no information about potential job cuts at the hospital.

Aside from potential layoffs, employees will be affected when Sutter opens its new administrative services center in Roseville, Calif. A group of 200 to 300 employees will move into that facility in early 2013, and more will follow as more than 1,000 employees are expected to work at the new Roseville location.
