Kaiser Permanente Hawaii to Lay Off 47 Nurses

Kaiser Permanente Hawaii is planning to lay off 47 registered nurses at some of its 18 clinics as part of a "redesign," according to a Star Advertiser report.

The proposed layoffs mean roughly 25 percent of registered nurses at Kaiser's Hawaii clinics would be affected. Those nurses would be replaced with lower-skilled licensed practical nurses and medical assistants, according to the report.
