Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., unveiled an immigration platform Nov. 7 that includes details on expanding healthcare access for immigrants, The Hill reports.
The candidate vowed to undo all Trump administration executive actions related to immigration on the first day in office, according to the report. This would include the public charge rule, a policy currently blocked by courts that, if implemented, would deny immigrants permanent residency if they have used public benefits like Medicaid. Another Trump administration rule bars immigrants from citing Medicaid to waive the green card application fee.
Mr. Sanders is also campaigning on the single-payer healthcare plan "Medicare for All," which would provide health insurance coverage to all people in the U.S., regardless of immigration status.
