The survey took place between March 6 and March 12 among a nationally representative sample of more than 1,200 adults.
Here are five survey findings.
1. Forty-eight percent of respondents believe the AHCA will decrease the number of Americans with insurance, while 18 percent believe that number will increase, the survey found. Three in 10 respondents believe the uninsured rate will stay about the same under the ACA replacement plan.
2. Forty-eight percent of respondents also anticipate the AHCA will increase costs for people who purchase insurance through the individual market, while 23 percent believe costs for these people will decrease, according to the survey. Twenty-five percent believe costs will stay about the same.
3. More than 40 percent of respondents expect the AHCA to provide health insurance with higher deductibles, the survey found. In comparison, 25 percent of respondents think deductibles will decrease and 23 percent expect them to stay the same.
4. Most respondents (45 percent) expect the AHCA would provide protections for people with pre-existing conditions similar to the ACA. More than 30 percent believe the AHCA would offer fewer protections.
5. Three-quarters of respondents are in favor of continuing current federal Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood to pay for services outside of abortion, according to the survey. Twenty-two percent of respondents are in favor of cutting off all federal funding to the organization.
