HHS touts 'aggressive strategy' in wake of Roe vs. Wade ruling

HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra said the agency is pursing an "aggressive strategy" on abortion after the Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade, Politico reported July 3.

Mr. Beccera said in an NBC interview July 3 that "the president in his first announcement said that he was tasking us at HHS to take on a number of issues, including medication abortion. And so he has asked us to seek as aggressive a strategy as we can."

This comes after the agency vowed to enforce exceptions to abortion bans in states where the procedure is prohibited and launched a website for reproductive care advice and resources.
