HHS' Office for Civil Rights seeks regional managers for investigations

Jessica Kim Cohen -

The HHS' Office for Civil Rights is looking to hire managers for investigations at two of its regional offices.

OCR's mission is to protect rights related to "nondiscrimination, conscience, religious freedom and health information privacy," including enforcing HIPAA, according to the agency's website. The manager for investigations will supervise the regional office's staff, as well as establish working relationships with state health agencies, health systems, health plans and tribes. The job openings are for vacancies in OCR's Chicago and Kansas City, Kan., offices.

Applicants must have current knowledge of federal "conscience and religious freedom laws, civil rights laws, and the HIPAA rules," according to the job listing.

HHS plans to close applications for the position Feb. 11.
