Kelly Gooch -

Declining reimbursements and the patient experience are the top two challenges of health systems, according to a study of nearly 100 healthcare executives.

The study, conducted by Porter Research last December, surveyed health system executives and finance leaders of 98 U.S. organizations. Participants were from acute care hospitals and integrated delivery networks with more than 300 beds. They primarily included members of the C-suite such as CEOs, CIOs and CFOs. Vice presidents and directors of  finance, administration and operations teams also participated.

Participants were asked to cite the top challenges to their organizations.

Here are their top 12 challenges.
