HealthAlliance Announces Layoffs Due to Decreased Patient Volumes

HealthAlliance Hospital of Leominster, Mass., has announced it will lay off employees from clinical and administrative departments, including some managerial staff, due to decreasing patient volumes, according to an article in the Worcester Business Journal.

According to the article, the layoffs will take place between now and Sept. 30.

"Given the dramatic and sweeping changes taking place nationally and regionally in healthcare, going forward, we will continue to review our staffing levels and make adjustments," said HealthAlliance CEO Deborah Weymouth in a memo.

HealthAlliance Hospital is part of the UMass Memorial Health Care System of Worcester, Mass.
