Emily Rappleye -

After a year and a half serving in the Trump administration, former HHS chief of staff Peter Urbanowicz is returning to his career as a healthcare consultant at Alvarez & Marsal, the firm announced Oct. 22.

Mr. Urbanowicz was HHS chief of staff from January 2018 to June 2019. Before joining HHS, Mr. Urbanowicz was a managing director in the healthcare group at A&M. He has a background in law and healthcare administration, serving as executive vice president and general counsel of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare from 2004-08. He also served as principal deputy general counsel of HHS during the George W. Bush administration.

"We welcome Peter's return to A&M," cofounder and CEO Bryan Marsal said in a press release. "The critical role he played as the Chief of Staff at the Department of Health and Human Services supplements an already impressive career that spans being a corporate officer, board member, presidential appointee, restructuring consultant and attorney."
