Former FDA chief Dr. Scott Gottlieb rejoins venture capital firm

Less than two months after leaving his post as FDA commissioner, Scott Gottlieb, MD, has been appointed as a special partner on New Enterprise Associates' healthcare investment team.

Dr. Gottlieb was a venture partner at NEA from 2007 to 2017 before being appointed commissioner of the FDA. He's rejoining the venture capital firm after stepping down from his position at the FDA in April. 

Dr. Gottlieb, who was the 23rd commissioner of the FDA, is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine and a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C.
