Flagler Hospital's chief of surgery dies in car crash

Warren Kluger, MD, died after a single vehicle crash on a four-lane Florida highway Monday night, according to a Florida-Times Union report.

Dr. Kluger, 71, served as chief of surgery at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, Fla., and was a member of the hospital's medical staff for nearly 40 years.

Flagler leaders shared the news with staff Tuesday, describing Dr. Kluger as a respected and dedicated surgeon in the hospitalwide memo.

"Dr. Kluger was known for spending countless hours at the hospital and was loved by his patients and colleagues," the memo read. "Our thoughts and prayers remain with Dr. Kluger's wife, children and all those closest to him during this difficult time."

Dr. Kluger specialized in vascular/thoracic surgery.
