Doctors and hospital administrators have more in common than you might assume. Contrary to popular perception, their priorities align. That’s according to a recent survey of 1,621 practicing physicians and healthcare administrators.
The 2016 study conducted by Cejka Search Healthcare Perspectives asked providers and administrators to rank the importance of ten healthcare delivery priorities in a post healthcare-reform environment. Survey says: The two groups agree on both highest and lowest priorities.
Both groups ranked “Effective patient communication” and “Collaborates well with advanced practitioners and other providers” among their top priorities. Similarly, the groups agreed that “Ability to negotiate with health plans to cover procedures believed to be in the best interest of patients” and “Working knowledge of insurance requirements” are among their lowest priorities.
