Efforts to undo Trump's ACA changes killed in Senate

The Senate shot down an effort by Democrats to overturn the Trump administration's State Relief and Empowerment Waivers, which allowed states to offer health plans that do not meet ACA standards, The Hill reports. 

Democrats were able to force a vote under the Congressional Review Act, but it did not garner enough support from Republicans to pass. The vote was 43-52, with Sen. Susan Collins of Maine being the only Republican to vote yea, according to the report. 

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., dismissed the vote as a political play because it had little chance of passing, according to The Hill
