Daniel F. Resnick, executive director and financial advisor at J.P. Morgan Securities, ranked No. 6 among the top next-generation wealth advisors in Illinois for 2017, according to Forbes.

For this year's annual "America's Top Next-Generation Wealth Advisors" list, advisors had to have been born in 1980 or later, and assume a leadership role on their teams or be in the process of building their own teams. The list, a collaboration between Forbes and Shook Research, also factored in advisors' client retention, revenues produced for their firms and assets managed.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Resnick.

1. Mr. Resnick's portfolio of clients includes business owners, corporate executives and insurance companies, among others.

2. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 2008, he worked as a private wealth advisor at Goldman Sachs. He began his career as financial analyst for Morgan Stanley in 2002.

3. Mr. Resnick received his bachelor's in economics from Evanston, Ill.-based Northwestern University.

4. Scott Becker, partner at McGuireWoods and publisher of Becker's Healthcare, said, "Daniel Resnick is a smart and compassionate and talented wealth advisor."
