CMS seeks CISO: 4 things to know

CMS is looking to hire a new chief information security officer and director of its information security and privacy group, according to a job listing posted Feb. 19.

Four things to know:

1. The senior executive will be tasked with advocating for CMS’ information security needs and overseeing the agency’s IT security and privacy policies and guidance.

2. The CISO and director role are part of the agency’s senior executive service, a group of senior government leaders that provide strategic leadership that “transcends loyalty to a specific agency mission or individual profession,” according to the job post.

3. The annual salary for the position is listed as between $126,148 and $189,600.

4. Applications for the CISO and director role close April 19.
