I recently had the chance to read "Prescription for Bankruptcy: A doctor's perspective on America's failing health care system and how we can fix it" by Edward Hoffer, MD.
The book provides a great overview and insight into the problems with the U.S. health system. Dr. Hoffer offers thoughtful solutions on a variety of issues, from the payer system to the cost of prescription drugs and how to reduce them. His book is a wonderful and thoughtful piece on the U.S. healthcare system.
Dr. Hoffer will celebrate 50 years at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston in 2019. He is a cardiologist who has devoted his career to combining clinical practice with cutting edge research in medical informatics.
