Former Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, says Republican legislators faced a moment of truth when ACA repeal efforts came to a vote this summer but argued they were not ready to be faced with such a moment, according to Politico.
"Their gonads shriveled up when they learned this vote was for real," Mr. Boehner told Politico about the GOP's inability to pass ACA repeal legislation this summer.
Mr. Boehner was at the center of Congressional efforts to fight the implementation of the ACA in 2013, and he led a 17-day government shutdown to avoid funding the program. He served as speaker of the House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015.
