Melvin Eisele is well-versed in the happenings of the healthcare world.

He spent more than two decades holding roles at numerous health systems and companies, including vice president at Gaithersburg, Md.-based Adventist HealthCare, vice president at Eisele Melvin HeadshotChicago-based Accretive Health and corporate director at Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System. Mr. Eisele now serves as vice president of revenue cycle at Loma Linda (Calif.) University Health.

On Tuesday, April 18, 2017, Mr. Eisele will speak on a panel at the Becker's Hospital Review 8th Annual Meeting. As part of an ongoing series, Becker's is talking to healthcare leaders who plan on speaking at the conference, which will take place from April 17 through April 20 in Chicago.

Question: What is the greatest challenge facing revenue cycle leaders today?

Melvin Eisele: The biggest challenge today is recruiting talented individuals.

Q: What do you like most about the Loma Linda area?

ME: I like the weather. You can do outdoor sports all year.

Q: The panel you're speaking on at the April conference is titled "The Best Actions to Improve Cash Flow Revenue Cycle Now: What is Working." What do you see as the top action to improve cash flow today?

ME: I see it as continuing to engage around technology and automation. We continue to use manual processes to complete functions that can be automated.
