Question: What is the No. 1 principle you uphold and practice to effectively lead a team?
Babatope Fatuyi: My one most important principle is Respect – Respect at all levels – treating others with dignity, empathy and compassion and the ability to earn the respect of others.
Q: What does healthcare need more of? Less of?
BF: Healthcare needs more of “Clean Data Analysis” – So much data has been collected and it keeps increasing. There is need to ensure data collected reflects the populace with appropriate extrapolation for improved population health tied to artificial intelligence and machine learning. Less Waste in all areas.
Q: What contributes to better conversations between a health system’s financial and clinical leaders?
BF: Purpose of Mission. I tend to achieve more when am able to balance the essence of our gathering which is first and foremost patient care and the direct correlation with revenue. Without the patient, we would not exist as an organization.
