Question: What are your top priorities for 2022?

Nick Ragone: On our marketing and communications team, we have a renewed focus this year on amplifying our culture of gratitude among our associates and frontline caregivers internally, lifting up the personal stories of our patients and all those we serve externally, and leading with the trusted voices of our providers and nurses to underscore our reputation as the preferred care provider in our communities. Our newest Hope and Healing campaign is a great example of this - inspired by a sticky note wall that our nurses started to post the reasons they are called to serve. This idea spread across our sites of care as a grassroots demonstration of hope and healing among associates as well as a way for us to raise broad awareness for the reasons we all serve.

Q: How do you plan to pivot strategies this year to better serve patients?

NR: Rather than pivoting, we are reinforcing - even doubling down - on our mission and the meaning of our brand. We are focused on creating a consumer experience that is built on our brand promise of compassionate, personalized care that starts with listening to understand - and empowers associates to demonstrate that brand promise every day in every way. And we are building a new approach to patient and consumer engagement that is most personalized to patient needs for the right care, at the right place, at the right time - and builds a connected relationship across care needs and for a lifetime.

Q: What technologies and innovations are you most excited about in healthcare right now?

NR: I'm most excited about healthcare investing in technologies and innovations that have long been trusted in traditional marketing and consumer engagement. By using new digital marketing capabilities, cutting edge CRM marketing tools and smart analytics and reporting capabilities, we can reach consumers when they need us - and not when they don't - and provide better patient information around care that matters most.
