Apollo Global Management appoints co-leaders of private equity business

Apollo Global Management, an asset management firm with stake in healthcare, has tapped two partners to lead its private equity business, according to The Wall Street Journal. 

Matt Nord and David Sambur will oversee the daily operations of the private equity business, taking over for Apollo's Co-President Scott Klienmann. Mr Klienmann will remain in his role as co-president. 

"We're really excited about bringing the next generation of talent forward," Mr. Kleinman told the Journal. "We've got an amazing, deep bench."

Mr. Nord has overseen many of Apollo's investments in healthcare, including a deal for telephone conferencing services provider West Corp., now known as Intrado. 

Mr. Sambur has led many investments in technology, media and telecommunications, including a deal for Shutterfly.
