Akron Children's Hospital CEO writes book on leadership

The CEO of Akron (Ohio) Children's Hospital penned a book about leadership to inspire individuals to understand the trials and tribulations associated with being a leader, cleveland.com reports.

William Considine has served as CEO of the hospital for 38 years. Under his leadership, the hospital has grown to become one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the nation, and handles nearly 800,000 patient visits annually.

In the book, "Leadership," Mr. Considine discusses the attributes needed to become a successful leader through the use of engaging personal stories and lessons he's learned while helming Akron Children's.

"Obviously, not everyone leads an enterprise with the ongoing drama inherent in a children's hospital. But I've discovered that an invisible force unites all good organizations. A large part of your job as a leader is to identify that force, or spirit, to nourish it and communicate it to every member of your organization," Mr. Considine said.

All proceeds from the book will benefit the Rebecca D. Considine Research Institute at Akron Children's Hospital.
